This was a quote thrown at Bill Hicks, the late great comedian who was more philosopher and spouter and shouter than he was ha ha funny. Yet he replied in kind saying “where do you go to think? I’ll meet you there.” Promptly shutting that person up. Now if there is one thing you’ll notice on my blog, one recurring theme, that is that I believe in a higher consciousness and that we all have the power to tap into that, evolve and create a harmonious unit on this planet that will take us way beyond the form and intellect we occupy now.

Well good news Bill believed the exact same thing, yelled it at the masses and for a while there in the 80’s and 90’s got through.

Bad news, he’s dead.

It really is unfortunate when someone who has the foresight to tell the people that we are wasting our lives on the trivialities passes away just before their message gains legs. And just as quickly as he came with his message he left this planet probably hoping that some other comedian will pick up the torch one day and illuminate the conscious again. But alas most are in it to become the next Adam Sandler or to a lesser extent Rob Schnieder.

I wish I had the readership, I wish I had the platform, I wish I was a well known filmmaker, well known enough to incorporate his ideas into movies and get them made, well it’s on the agenda I’m just waiting for the universe to deliver. Simply put he really did believe that we are one, we represent this planet and that we are losing out because we have forgotten to think for ourselves while we watch American Gladiators. Yet he also hated humanity and believed that we are the problem, “a virus with shoes” he called us. I agree with him to some extent, but good is done every day yet those people and their work is going unnoticed as we focus on Mel Gibson’s 5th audio abuse tape.

I got mine , and now me and the family sit around the dinner table listening to it every night.

Now if you actually watch a couple of his videos you’ll realize one glaring attribute that set Bill apart from all the other comedians – he never was actually that funny. Actually truth be told I don’t think he was funny at all. But then again that was the point, to get his point across. Funny was for the masses a message is for the privileged. What you would notice is that he got more cheers per punch line or anecdote than any other comedian out there. He spoke the truth and knew people weren’t going to listen unless he yelled it at them. He was more than aware that years of conditioning had left his audience numb to anything other than piss and fart stories. It’s here that he realized that what he was spouting was never really comedy but a message to the people that time is running out, if you want to be a waste of f-ing flesh by all means go ahead and keep living the banalities of life.

Seriously there are so many examples of him just tearing the publc a new one, and to be honest he was well within his rights because most of his insights weren’t all that new, he just had the guts to vocalize them in a public forum. And to a further extent I would dare say that most people are stupid it’s just he had a modicum of common sense and decided to share it with the rest of the world.

That’s actually one of the comments on the youtube video below.

Anyway if you’d rather just read some of his quotes click the wiki link below. I kid you not once you read the first one you’ll be hooked. It’s like eating potato chips – http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Bill_Hicks

Anyway where was I, oh wait I was actually suppose to dedicate this post to Cliff Stone and UFO’s. Well it’ll have to wait another week. But having said that watch this clip, as easy as he says it, as easy it can be done. The only thing that’s stopping it, is us.

The thing most difficult about writing this post is that whatever I write will really be of no use if you decide to further explore the messages Bill had to say. I think the point here is to try and illuminate anyone who isn’t really that familiar with him. Then again if you are typing in Bill Hicks into Google then coming across my post will be a little redundant. But being the film geek that I am I do have knowledge of a film currently in the works based on the life of Bill. From what I read it may or may not be in pre production and it may or may not star Russell Crowe and it may or may not be directed by Ron Howard. What’s interesting is that good ol’ Russ talks about Bill in an almost prophetic way. How his message actually foreshadowed events to come, like he was privy to some sort of planetary newsletter but accidentally received the year 2000 editions decades’ prior.

Right now I’m trying to find a quote by Rusty about Bill and how he had seen things from a different angle so just bear with me. Don’t whatever you do watch the film “Human Traffic” and think that scene with the guy watching Bill Hicks is what I’m getting at. That was purely in there because that film was trying to be obscure and cool and failed miserably on both counts not unlike Empire Records – man that was a shit film.

Wait here it is:

“There’s a very different theory that Bill Hicks was in fact a prophet, and that the things he said 20 years ago are still relevant now. Like he said, ‘Don’t vote in George Bush Sr because there are a whole lot of Bushes in Texas…’ You can go through the stuff he was saying then and it’s actually shocking, because it’s like he was talking yesterday.”

– Russell Crowe

There is actually a clip on youtube that has him ripping into Jay Leno, I think it was just right when he took over Carson. Anyway the majority of the rant details Bill’s distain for Leno and how much of a NBC company man he is.

I have nothing against Leno but it does now seem to reek of some truth considering the incidents that have played out with himself and Conan over the past year.

By the way go Conan!!!

My biggest question now would be, what would Bill make of our planet today?

Glen Beck, More Rush Limbaugh, More Jay Leno, Reality TV, Lady Gaga, American Idol seriously I could go on and on and on. But can you imagine Bill amongst all this crap today, he would honestly implode he wouldn’t know who to attack first. They all represent those ideals against humanity that he so adamantly tried to eradicate. He wanted people who contributed to this planet, it’s species and it’s evolution.

If not then go f- off.

And I guess what, I f-ing agree.

Sorry for not posting the UFO story to those who actually read this thing, I promise next week I will unless something else crosses my mind. Actually I might post something else on purpose so someone actually comments on my thing!!!!!!!
